Partnership for the Next Generation Vehicle (PNGV
Partnership for the Next Generation Vehicle (PNGV) is a 10 -year program, as yet without funding, though estimated to be on the order of $1 billion overall. Taking the results of the Hybrid progam, and drawing on work from all areas of automotive and industrial/manufacturing, the goals are: 1. Support manufacturing competitiveness (autos involve virtually all mfg. processes); 2. Implement state-of-the art improvements in emission control and increased efficiency in today's vehicles; and 3. develop radically new vehicles with triple the fuel economy.
